One key for filling your pool is to make sure the pump is working and the pool is large enough. Once you have that, the next best tip is this:

The water in the pool should have no more than five inches of water at the top, and about one inch of water at the bottom.

From there, there are three main options for getting your water. Since we are a pool water delivery company, we are biased and like #3 the best.

1. Fill Your Pool With City Water  

If your on city water, attach your garden hose to your spigot before putting the other end in the pool. From there, just turn that on and wait. The entire filling process could take a couple of days, so keep an eye on it and check on it every so often. If you have additional hoses and spigots, use 2 hoses from 2 different spigots at the same time.

2. Fill Your Pool Using A Well 

There are 2 take-aways here otherwise you are at risk of your well running dry and you could burn out your well pump. Most people do not want this to happen so make sure you go slower than you would if you were connected to city water.

Just like step one, attach a hose to your well pump, place the other end of the hose in your pool, and turn the pump on.  

Frankly we would not risk this but if you are set on this method, monitor your well pump and if you hear any strange sounds, turn it off and move to step 3. 

3. Pool Bulk Water Delivery Service  

There is a lot to be said for pool water delivery. It is so much faster to have water delivered because we can move tons of water at once. The benefit is that it gives you the chance to swim faster.
